Re: And who establishes the baseline?

Cause what you'll find is a baseline established by someone looking for conformation bias.

You will never get everyone to agree on who is a good pick and who is a bad pick, but you will find anyone who wants to make the Rams look good will skew the baseline in their favor, and vice versa.

We've already seen it in this thread with zn saying the Rams were 60% successful with their 2nd rounders and counting Joyner among the successes. I mean, I assume that's what he did cause I can't image he considered Quick and Pead a success. On top of that one of the 2 success is Jenkins who they only got a couple of good years out of. So right now out of 5 picks in the 2nd round the only legit success on the team is Havenstein a 2nd year guy with a bad foot. The other 4 picks, Quick, Pead, Jenkins, and Joyner have provided either very little or are gone. That doesn't sound like something the Rams should be getting rave reviews for.

But other teams also have players who start and then leave in free agency. And now Havenstein is "a second year guy with a bad foot?" Talk about skewing the data. Sheesh. (I DEFINITELY remember many a howl of pertest over THAT pick when it was made, with many saying he cold have been drafted in the 4th or even 5th, but none of those howlers acknowledging how wrong they were.)

I don't think Pead or Quick is anyone's idea of a success. But Joyner? No one who plays the majority of snaps is a failure as a 2nd-round pick.

  I'd cut Joyner now
