I just think he got overwhelmed when he got no protection. Its just a time issue with him.
IMO? If the issue is knowing the offense and being able to operate it quickly and effectively like 2nd nature---calling protections, calling audibles, reading sight adjustments--- then practicing with the ones would make no difference.
He has to learn his part to the point where it's just confidently part of him.
Ones or no ones, that's stuff taking place in his head. When he gets up to speed with all that, then, he will have earned time with the ones.
.
... and when the time comes - no knowing how long it'll take -
I really do believe he will excel.
Fisher knew from JG's slower than expected learning curve at the onset of OTA's, that the only way JG had a realistic chance to start the season was if Boras cut back the playbook so much that it would severely effect the Rams chances of winning in the first month of the season.
I was bummed that Goff was not as quick of a study as I gave him credit for but I'm more about beating SF on Sept 12th. These media reports don't have an effect on me like they would've a couple of weeks ago.
Anyway like all of us here already knew, Fisher wants to have a wining season in the most passionate of ways and he's not taking any chances out of the gate.
Fisher is in full regular season game mode now-
And............He will play his most trusted players because......
I'm with you. I can handle Goff not being ready, but it would have been AWESOME to see him ready to take the reins already. Fish would have love that too, no doubt; they obviously think his ceiling is much higher than CK's. But Fish thinks they can win w/CK and given our knowledge of his arm limitations I haven't seen anything not to like from Case in the preseason. Just keep him healthy, OL!
