Philly: first year coach and GM that are not worried about losing as Wentz starts learning on the job.
LA: 5th year coach and GM that ARE worried about losing as Goff learns on the job.
If you reversed Goff and Wentz it would be the same exact deal IMO. Goff would be starting, I am sure of that, because that is the fastest way to learn the position. Give him all the snaps, focus, etc., and put him in there. Wentz has missed a lot of time and had his snaps affected as a result. Like Goff, the dude has elite passing ability though, more raw ability than Goff and most other QBs to come out in a long time in my estimation. So starting him has its merits.
Risk for Wentz is injury. He's not gonna be as good with protections as a vet, plain and simple. They can say he's ready all they want but he's a rookie and is gonna take more shots than he should because of that.
Exactly....and Wentz has already been injured, took one good shot and he was done.
Don't know if it was the right or wrong thing to do only time will tell, but I think they realized Sam was gone after this year anyway and why not get as much as they could for him since his price was never going to be higher, considering the desperation of Minny.
