It has to have been that for some reason the player who touched the ball was not eligible to do so, as opposed to any player on the kick unit touching the ball inside the 5. Perhaps going out of the bounds (thus being ineligible to the be the FIRST to touch the ball) isn't the only reason to make a guy ineligible to touch it first. Otherwise I don't know.
Even at that, and I don't think it was that but...why does the ball come out to the 20 "by rule"? I've never seen a penalty without yardage before except on KO out of bounds?
