If what you say is true why do you think a coordinator as accomplished as Williams would do this
IYO is Tree not allowed a learning curve?
Lastly do the Rams not run draws or plays to get Tree ready for the season
I think he has a temperament problem... That's one of my biggest concerns... That and he does play high which will be trouble for a MLB. But Willaims believes in him... What does he see?
Thx

I think playing AO mid is a huge mistake. His skill has been his "go get em"". Straight line, point A to B and tackle. Technique, form, reading, structure has always been a flaw. It was a flaw in college and it's not changed. A man can get by and be very good as a go get em athlete. Greatness comes from instincts.
In AO's case, he doesn't have the instincts. You can't teach it. He requires someone setting him up. He can't get himself right so to assume that he can get his boys right is a bad bet.
The Dallas game was a very telling set of plays. I am not being sensational in saying that he did not do one thing right. Every time the chance presented itself he looked foolish. He did not communicate with his mates. He read every draw wrong. He read the players coming over the middle wrong. Not one positive choice. He got eaten up by blockers because he's thinking.
The tell is his head. He is rubber necking. the game is too fast. He is trying to read and react but since he can't read every sense is shutting down. His vision becomes locked. It's not fluent. Peripheral vision leaves. Everything is an obstacle.
He could be very good on the outside or make the middle of the defense a huge flaw. I hope it slows down for him, but to ask a guy like him to direct is simply too much for him and a young D.
Does he believe in him or does he believe in AO's legs and his own system? I'm not sure but I'd wager he's betting on himself. Worst comes to worst AO could switch over and they could adjust to some sort of flood system.
