Exactly. There are a nearly infinite number of cases of what ifs on this subject. We can only concern ourselves with situations where a team makes a huge investment in a pick. When you trade away the farm for a pick then you're betting your future on that one player. There is so much pressure on Goff being a good QB, that he and everyone else in the organization has to feel it.

Still, I believe in Goff. I think he is gonna be just fine. And all this criticism form the fast food football media is actually hilarious. Heck, I was watching the NFLC at halftime of the Chiefs game and some pretty girl named Colleen or something said that Goff needs to get the ball to Higbee in the 2nd half.
