There wasn't much interaction between Fisher and Goff, or any of the QBs for that matter. I've been hearing a lot about how Jason Garrett is very hands on with Prescott and really made him very comfortable and relaxed. Don't see any of that going on with Goff. All I've seen is a young QB getting verbally roughed up and then watch how skidish he is on the field. Made me think about what Dickerson said during the last PS game, how much more comfortable Foles looked compared to how he looked last year. Makes me concerned about how well Fisher handles QBs.
.
There are long endless stories out there about the successful qbs who had simply business relations with their head coaches. If we need Goff to have a homey atmosphere he's doomed.
Also, what you are seeing in Dallas is not homespun goodness, you're seeing an ex-qb, offense-minded head coach contributing to qb development.
And on top of it we know Fisher connects at a personal level with his starter---we saw it with McNair.
BUT that doesn't mean he is going to be doing it in unit meetings or on the practice field. Nor should we need him to do that.
On top of it I saw Foles looking just as "comfortable" in games 1-4 last year as he did with KC. If anything he didn't look as good now with KC, because at least last year with the Rams before he melted down, he could score in the redzone sometimes. In fact if anything he was more accurate then than he is now.
So in short I respectfully disagree. It's a couple of weeks into Goff's career and if his head is spinning practicing against a Wms defense that takes no prisoners and doesn;t go vanilla for a rookie... then so be it. I am very confident that that will all settle down eventually.
Goff will be fine and will become what we rightfully expect him to. Prescott is a nice story but personally I am not looking over my shoulder at him.
