They were not panned constantly last year. The majority of ripping on Jenks and McLeod that I saw was in the 2014 season and prior.
Last year both of those guys played at a very high level and we had very few blown coverages for TDs if any. Contrast that with the 2014 season where seemingly every other game, there would be a huge blown coverage for a TD and no one was really sure if that was JJ’s fault or McLeod’s.
There are major concerns with the DBs.
Joyner hasn’t excelled at the slot; he was adequate.
MoWilliams is a thumper but the fact that you’re conceding that he’s a liability in the passing game is a problem. You realize this could very well mean a return back to the routine blown coverages for TDs that were common in 2014 right?
Gaines I like but am concerned about his ability to stay healthy. If he doesn’t stay healthy, the secondary will be in deep, deep trouble.
Sensenbaugh is horrible and the worst signing of the Fisher regime.
All of the rest are good depth. It’s the starters that are concerning. This is all my opinion of course.
