I don’t believe the Fisher Rams have ever carried only 8 DL. That alone makes it unlikely.
That said, there is no way to go by history because every year there is fluctuation in the number per position depending on the talent they have on hand.
One year recently he carried 11 OL; another year 5 LBs. Other years he has had 5 WRs and 5 RBs. The only positions that have had the same numbers every year is QB and STs with 3 each.
This year I’m not sure 6 LBs make it. IMO, Lynch is not a lock. We also may not see 10 OL. They seem to have picked up a lot of versatile OL which means they could do 9. BTW, Kish may be ahead of Rhaney.
On the WR’s, I doubt they do Cooper, Spruce, and Marquez. All three only play in the slot. Which means they would be very thin on the bigger outside WRs that Groh prefers. I wouldn't be surprised to see 7 here this year. BTW, who is Smith?
On the DL, I seriously doubt Thomas or Longacre are ahead of Easley in the depth chart hierarchy. I posted in another thread that PFF had Easley higher than Donald last year in QB pressure and sack rate. A rotational DT who can be as effective as Donald with 30 snaps per game is extremely valuable and a roster lock. The only question is his health. Since he is currently healthy, he is a roster lock IMO.
On the DBs you only listed 9 names there. It’s possible that they only carry 9.
