While Jim Thomas is very good and I wish he was working for one of the papers out here just let me remind folks that some of the best football writers were in LA at one time.
Bob Oates of the LA Times for years was recognized as the top pro football writer in the nation.
Jim Murray who all around was perhaps the best sports writer in the country at one time was pretty good too.
John Czarnecki who is syndicated nationally now was a great beat writer for the Herald Examiner for years as was
Doug Krikorian.
Rich Roberts of the Long Beach Press-Telegram was a very good football writer as well.
Lets not forget Steve Bisheff either. Wrote some good books like "Los Angeles Rams Great Teams, Great Years" and was with the Herald Examiner and OC Register for years.
