My observation is from a focus standpoint and maybe an intensity standpoint the Rams 1st team defense was a little slow to wake up and play.
They improved as the game progressed.
The intensity of the 2s and 3s seemed much better to me and it showed.
Grits
That's quite possibly because the Rams focus in the pre-season, at least in the 1st game, is on keeping the D starters healthy AND getting a look at the depth. So the depth is going to play like it matters and the starters aren't.
It's obviously different with the offense because they're actually trying to fine-tune that. The D they just figure is more veteran and they know what they have with the starting unit.
People sometimes say, well you can't flip a switch. But last summer they did the same thing and then the team went 2-2 against 4 playoff teams. including opening with a win against Seattle. So maybe they think they CAN flip a switch.
