Not knowing how to decide between Huntington Beach, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, and Pasadena I decided to let price be a factor.
I used Hotwire.com for my booking. After initiating a search for a hotel in Los Angeles I narrowed the results by only including hotels in those 4 neighborhoods. Then I sorted the results by price (lowest first). The cheapest was a 3-star hotel in Huntington Beach for $103 a night with a 70% approval rating, the second on the list was also in HB for $104 a night: this one had a 95% approval rating. Then the next hotel was $158 and they went up from there.
I snagged that $104 hotel in HB: it turns out to be the Ayres Hotel Fountain Valley / Huntington Beach. It looks like a great place - I hope it serves us well!!
Getting input from all of you help me book with some level of confidence: without it I was just throwing darts at the map. Thanks again.
