Logan Bruss was among the list of young players that the Los Angeles Rams were eager to watch in Saturday’s preseason opener versus the Los Angeles Chargers. Following Saturday’s exhibition contest, Sean McVay revealed that the Rams were pleased with how Bruss performed in his preseason debut.
“I thought he did a good job. Sometimes, there is so much going on up front that until you go back and watch the film,” McVay said. “But there was a couple plays where he was at the point of attack and even did a good job on some backside combinations where the ball ended up winding back for some good positive gains.”
When the Rams took Bruss with the 104th overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft, he was immediately thrust into the competition for the starting right guard spot left behind by Austin Corbett. The rookie out of Wisconsin has received positive remarks all offseason, but he’s seemingly behind Coleman Shelton in the ongoing competition.
Since McVay arrived in Los Angeles, the Rams have shown a tendency to avoid starting rookies on the offensive line. Even though Bruss isn’t expected to start in Week 1 of the regular season, McVay and the coaching staff of the Rams appear to be ecstatic about the progress that he’s making as a rookie.
