The Rams actually had several runs and screens that were combo and zone blocked quite well. But this was the bottom half of the OL roster being moved around to test them so there were even more breakdowns, which is expected. But to the point of how Bruss performed, I would need more context about his development because I haven't seen him all offseason. McVay's coachspeak is inevitable but it also included praise for Shelton and the telltale "no pre season for you" designation only given to starters. As for the film on the Chargers game...I concur...unremarkable. I see good, functional strength, generally good pad level and coordination, and I don't know enough to tell how well his technique was replicated from practice but it seems consistent with what we saw last year with Corbett. And yet, this all tells us very little about how he might perform with the first unit against elite opponents. Damn, it's his first rookie game...what more should we expect?
