I was somewhat ambivalent about Payton

January 26, 2019 07:42AM
Didn't really care for the guy, but didn't have a strong opinion.

I do now!

George nailed it, and him, in his classic post about how he allowed the lack of a call impacted his coaching moving forward.

McVay would not have jumped on a game after and immediately started whining.

Here's what McVay would have done after the game. Given props to Payton and blamed himself for the loss.

Here's what he would gave done since. Watched film. Watched more film. Pondered how he could have done better. Not complained to anybody in public.

We have not only the better coach, but the nicer person.

There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
