I have noticed plays in which passes to Sammy Watkins appear to be slightly overthrown and might be catchable, but he slows down and doesn't make an effort to catch the ball. Sorry that I can't provide specific examples -- these are plays that I have seen during the course of the season and I didn't take notes. However, there has been more than just one. There was a game in which he made an extraordinary effort when he leaned way back and made a great catch on the left sideline. So he is giving it all at least in some cases. In other cases, he didn't seem to give his all to make a play. I realize that some great players make the game look easy, and they are actually going all out when it looks like they're just gliding. Eric Dickerson was often described in that way. Has anyone else noticed that Watkins doesn't always seem to go all out? If that is what is happening, it might explain why Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp have been more productive as the #2 and #3 receivers.
