Yeah, I have plenty of stills showing Stafford not seeing the wide open guy too…. It happens with every QB
My guess is he was told to make sure to throw it in the end zone, because anything short of that would result in game over with no timeouts left…
not Stafford --- and not THAT wide open. I gave him a chance when people wanted to run him out of town, but if he's under orders to only do one thing, and this is a 26 year old QB ... with "moxy" not buying it.
That is not a normal wide open, if he cannot see it and take advantage of it, then it's a problem. A QB who can play, who has moxy should see it, take it.
You can give him credit for doing well in the scramble drill ... but it is a QBs job to take the easy one.
let's say he didn't hit the scramble drill TD--- a low-percentage play, and then McVay sees this ... what would he say. "Ahh it
s okay Stetson, I told you end zone or nothing."
This is not a check down in the middle of field or at the 20-yard line. I have to think that he was not given "orders" to pass this up if it's there. You want your QB to do things that will win in the regular season.
it's a reasonable thought but not buying it. Have to agree to disagree.
My assessment of Bennett is he's capable of playing well, but 7 INTs in 4 preseason games? Make me wonder. Something is missing and that missed throw to Scott is not the only thing.
Just hope Rams don't have to use him forst two weeks. McVay will have to tell him everything, I guess.
