that is a short throw ... and one a guy of Bennett's age can see and complete. He's got a lane. It's a walk-in TD if he pulls the trigger. I am not hating on the guy, I want him to play next 2 games to overcome issues, but that's a huge window, no matter the angle. He has to know where his check-down is and throw it.

His progression went from right to left,

He will learn but he had 3 over 2 on both sides, this screams for checkdown. If he throws it, it's the right play.

Give him credit for extending play, but he's the one who unnecessarily extended it.

you can see there is nothing to the right, (frontside) nor left (backside) ... pull the trigger Stetson!

He admitted he didn't have clear vision on some of his INT's as if he was on auto pilot.

He looked much of the same as he did last preseason.

Pulling this game off at the end might have been a fluke. It also might be a sign that he's going to stick it up our arses if he ends up the backup for weeks 1 and 2 of the regular season.

I'm willing to give him 2 more games to see if he can shake the hibbie jibbies.

it seems like he could've had 6 INT's but he only ended up with 4.

And then, "wa la" he pulled a rabbit out of his hat after a pass interference break on the game winning drive.

What a professional type of off schedule throw to win the game.

I was elated for him like everyone other Rams fan was.

not Stafford --- and not THAT wide open. I gave him a chance when people wanted to run him out of town, but if he's under orders to only do one thing, and this is a 26 year old QB ... with "moxy" not buying it.

That is not a normal wide open, if he cannot see it and take advantage of it, then it's a problem. A QB who can play, who has moxy should see it, take it.

You can give him credit for doing well in the scramble drill ... but it is a QBs job to take the easy one.

This is not a check down in the middle of field or at the 20-yard line. I have to think that he was not given "orders" to pass this up if it's there. You want your QB to do things that will win in the regular season.

My assessment of Bennett is he's capable of playing well, but 7 INTs in 4 preseason games? Make me wonder. Something is missing and that missed throw to Scott is not the only thing.

The point is not the blame or go after Bennett. The point is preseason is to see if a guy can be an NFL QB ... can he?

The story of each INT by McVay will be told to Bennett --- what happened, what did you do wrong, what surprused you, what did hte receiver do wrong -- and one an one.

Winning and losing in preseason is secondary to seeing why guys do. Remember we saw this firt year with him. Looks good for a while, then a pick.

CERTAINLY SB is NOT in their category however having alot of interceptions to me reflects having a "bad game", not necessarily being a "bad QB" (coming from just "a fan"). Those HOF QBs had bad games despite not being rusty, having a compliment of NFL roster 1st string talent, (playing with starters) knowing the entire playbook, and being veterans of many many NFL games.
His "year off" was disturbing to many and the details not entirely clear. However reportedly his team and staff have coalesced around him.
Im not saying he is starter material but I am pulling for him. He did win 2 championships and has an intangible the Rams saw in him and continue to hedge their bets with him. Many college QBs had incredible talented rosters and did not accomplish that. Tebow did but cant throw lol
I heard somewhere jimmy did not look good in camp.. not sure if this is true?? I still think this is the best BACKUP QB situation we have had in years (aside from Wentz). To early to tell in my eyes. More game experience needed. In my eyes however, SB can blow games and can possibly win games. I was all for giving him a chance and will not say all 4 INTs were on him. And I liked that McVay gave
him a second chance when some people wanted him gone already.

But growing forward --- he cannot miss this kind of play in the NFL, even if you save the kid
from the burning building --one that you started the fire in.
