Too many people out there writing on this seem to think that the Rams where/are going to replace Donald with “xx” where xx is anyone really.
And of course I could be completely wrong, but I sense like I said pre drafts, that just because, if nothing else, AD was what he was, they are not even going to try and to replace him as such , instead tweaking the system as much as they can within the established parameters to more or less try to do things differently, while still staying within an overall scheme, at least until Shula has a better handle on things to maybe craft his own.
You can’t replace the single best defensive player in my time 1 to 1 and doing it would only be a downgrade so rather they are going to try different things instead.
Why commentators can’t see this I don’t know. It might be a lack of knowledge about the team but to me it seems more like they have stared themselves so blind on what they have said the Rams would do, that they can’t see beyond it.
(Leaving aside of course that some commentators might simply be too trapped in their own ego to admit that they have been wrong, but we must be generous, and there is no evidence that is the case in any given situation)
