The author writes, re: the trade to get Fiske and where he will play:
"I broke this down in a previous article of mine discussing why the Rams shouldn't panic into a first-round defensive tackle to replace Donald (something they seemingly did anyways a round later), but from what we can gleam the Rams' defensive fronts to be, Fiske's fit is...a bit odd."
First, the Rams didn't overpay, given the market, bargaining strategy, and the fact that when you approach trade partners in the first round they can drive a hard bargain. They wanted the player. On several counts, he wasn't just another defensive lineman. He was chosen to fit a preconceived plan.
Second, we know where he'll play. He'll be right next door to Verse. That was a gimmie since draft day.
As to the writer, the one sentence I quoted would not pass upper division English 101.
As JY53 points out, he does know something about football - but just enough to get himself into trouble if he doesn't do his himework - and pay attention to his craft.
