For context, here's the issue: "Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay acknowledged the NFL Network report that quarterback Matthew Stafford would like more guaranteed money on his contract ..." [

Stafford didn't ask for more money. He asked for more guaranteed money.
His salary in '25 is $27M and his salary in '26 is $26M. If the Rams guaranteed his '25 salary wouldn't that satisfy Stafford's request?
I would do that in a heartbeat. And then the issue goes away.
I would even include language that guaranteed his '26 salary if he played a certain number of games in '25.
And if Stafford is game I'd even add a couple years to his deal (not guaranteed, though).
