Re: Would experience with past injuries turn Rams off this top edge player

From the article:

"Latu suffered a serious neck injury before the 2020 season and was forced to medically retire."

"It’s been two years since Latu’s injury ..."

When I do the math I get that it's been 4 years since his injury, not 2. Lmk if I'm missing something ...

Latu suffered a neck injury during fall practices entering his sophomore year. Following the season, Washington's team doctors deemed that the injury had not recovered enough ... [en.wikipedia.org]

I think it's a big deal that the docs at Washington doctors were concerned about his recovery progress and not the severity of his injury. To me, if they had said his injury was such that he could never play again that would be a different story. "Not recovered enough" implies that they would have cleared him if he was further along in his recovery.

It's also important to note that he played in 2022 (with 10.5 sacks) in addition to 2023 (with 13 sacks). So now he's 4 years post injury with two full season's of college ball under his belt.

Based on all that I don't think it would be a problem to draft him

If our Rams Draft Him I would be satisfied with that Pick
