I believe Sweat could play that position and I also believe that DL Coach Gif Smith could work with him there. Sweat was an interior defensive tackle for the Texas Longhorn and usually aligned at 0 or 1-technique,
though he did play out of the 3 or 4i technique on occasion. He does a good job of keying the snap and has a very good first step.[

Would mean a change for how Rams play. They don't go LDE and RDE, it's more based on over and under... meaning they moved the DT and DE
based on the front they ran.
With AD gone, it's possible they go left and right ... but I'd suspect anyway, they will play Turner at Donald's 3-T position, moving him to side to side
based on the frton.
Sweat as a DE? Well, of course anything is possible ... but guys that big don't play DE, at least haven't. There's never been a DE that big in NFL history.
But there is always a first.
My point is if they did that, there is a lot of shuffling that will prob. have to happen.
Rams need plug and play guys. Verse? Prob. can do it Sweat? That's a question mark.
Much rather have Fiske as a DE, and pick up depth ... Brown III as nose, Turner as DT, Fiske at DE ... Johnson/Murch backing the DT, DE ... and maybe Rams pick up a Fangio-style NT ... as well ... to spell Brown III
But Rams could make changes, I don't know if the future will be the same as the past without Donald.
