I wouldn't put it into the remorse area though. I really did like Witherspoon, I liked his height and speed, I liked the way he handled the young guys, even when a screw up just happened. He stayed calm, never lost his "balance" even when he got beat, and he never went overboard when he made a play....and he made several big ones.
I know he has nagging injuries (or so it seems), he played through a groin issue end of the year. All that said I know that White has been a gamer in the league, he has shown his abilities and they are top notch. He was a top 5 CB (or close in the area) BEFORE his injuries came. Those injuries are big time injuries, not nagging ones. A blown knee followed up by a blow achillies is serious to overcome. I in all honesty can't fathom him being what he was 3 years ago. They paid over 8 million for a guy who may not even make the team much less play close to his pre injury self.
I don't know what 'Spoon wanted or even if he is still available (can't see it) with their cap now.
The things they address at first I think were top notch, the getting of Curl looks very good, Williams coming back knows the system. This last choice is to me the only risky move they have made. They needed to sign someone, but I thought 'Spoon , he knew the system, he liked the group, he liked the scheme...he wanted too much?....I can't assume that either.
I can't have remorse when the guy hasn't played yet, but I can feel a bit down because I think we had one in the hand and let it go. Right now the only thing in my hand is a pair of crossed fingers.
