Ever since he was drafted, people have been talking about him starting or shutting down 1/2 the field. I don't understand what all of that is based on. Did he play against the top receivers in college?
Then I had the thought that people might be intrigued by his bloodline; his being LT's kid.
Did he play top receivers? Maybe not at first but once he transferred to Big 12 they had to be decent.
Point is, whether people have too much hope for him or not, he's not like those others you named. He's not being overhyped. He is just a guy who didn't start as a rookie ... there are examples of guys like him playing in year 2 ...
I don't know what this year will bring but he's not a longshot like all those others, IMO. He's a guy who was not drafted higher because he's the size of Pat Thomas and it's not 1976 -- that makes it a problem.
