He didn't play much, but I do remember his splash play that was negated by a penalty against him. He returned an INT for a TD only for it to be called back because he had a penalty. I don't remember if the penalty was ticky tacky or not, but the flag was thrown. I look past that penalty and see a guy who was ball aware and very twitchy after the INT. He showed ball skills, although on a VERY limited basis.
So I'll run with what little I saw and think that he has what it takes to play pro ball, just needs a LOT more reps and hope he stays healthy through OTA's, Mini's and TC to get a bunch of play time in those 3 pre games....I am like you thinking that no way can he be assumed to be relied on, but I do think he has some good, very good upside to offer. We also have some great coaches back end to help him, add the fact that he comes from good football lineage helps in my thinking of his upside. (although lineage doesn't always mean much i.e....Brycen Hopkins).
I think there were times he looked decent and the ones you mention, getting a penalty" like Kendricks would do.
We have too little of information to go one, sometimes guys improve between year 1 and year 2 ... so he's not a disappointment yet. He may not have been able absorb full playbook.
But, I'd say he has a shot to start ... but I also think Rams will grab someone in draft and they may be like H-T, ready in their 2nd year
