In round, what if this scenario unfolds...
1. Brock Bowers (TE Georgia) falls to the Rams in round 1. Take him?
2. JJ McCarthy (QB Michigan) falls to the Rams in round 1. Take him?
3. The two top CBs: Mitchell (C
or Arnold (C
fall to the Rams in round 1. Take one?
My guess on Brockers is they sprint to the podium and figure it out thereafter. But of course we don't know the personality stuff the team gets from the Georgia staff so if he's a real jerk (as some rumors insinuate) then maybe he falls and we don't sprint to the podium. Just looking at his field quality though there is no way you pass on that talent. You take him.
I think McCarthy is overrated. The guy has all the tools you want but I keep going back to Harbaugh protecting him with that run game. I cannot get past that. Though to answer your question this is about the Rams so I would guess they take him due to supply and demand. QBs are hard to find so if there is one you think has a good chance you take him. And by the way the same goes for LT in that regard there at 19. Very hard to find so whenever you're staring at one you believe in during the draft the smart call is to take him.
Mitchell I would think the Rams take, but I don't expect him to be on the board. Arnold is interesting though because he ran that 4.5 which is not "bad" but it's not optimum either. And first half of round 1 is where optimized players go. So it's conceivable he's on the board for us and I would think the Rams take him because he would plug in day one and our defense would be considerably better in coverage. It would be a big impact addition IMO.
