It never occurred to me that JG could become a Ram. But, I think it is a pretty good choice. I wonder if they considered Tannehill?
In the end, I think it had to do with exactly what McVay said: 1) JG was a personally known quantity to him, 2) his skill set fit the Rams system and even the terminology was similar.
