I think there is a lot of truth to what you are saying. I was at his last game but really didn't "notice" him like I did in the run to SB 56.
He had a GREAT career. By sheer luck I was at his first game and has last in person. Wish they still did ticket stubs so that I could frame them both.
What a career and what dominance from the DT position.
Merlin Olsen and Deacon Jones were before my time but my goodness have Rams fans been blessed with some ridiculously good D-Lineman and even amongst those luminaries, including Jack Youngblood, one player will likely be considered the GOAT (I see you Deacon but the lineman playing today are much different then the dudes you were playing against).
