It sounds like they may want to lowball Alaric as 3M would be a good backup salary. So will the Rams then target and sign Tyron Smith? AJ would be a heck of a backup as he would fill Noteboom's super-sub OL skills better than NB. I think AJ is better than Boom at G or T.
