Prior the 1989 NFC wild card round between the Los Angeles Rams and the Philadelphia Eagles, Eagles head coach Buddy Ryan had the genius idea to trash talk the Rams beforehand, talking about how they were looking forward to playing the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round, and saying how they didn't fear Rams running back Greg Bell, even though he led the NFL in rushing touchdowns in each of the past two seasons. Safe to say, this move backfired in spectacular fashion
