I know some will applaud the relevant nature of the Combine. I haven't seen it in a very long time.
This is a club with the HCs that come wanting to Hob Nob with other NFL guys.
Weigh ins, medicals, and interviews are all that's needed today. And teams aren't going to do any of that except with guys they are interested in.
There are plenty of post season games, and Pro days at colleges, plus scads of video on every one of these guys, going back to their high school time. I suspect the oohs and aaahs of the media at fast or slow 40's, or high or low a guy jumps, are simply because they're only now learning what NFL teams have known about certain guys for several months.
No point for a busy guy like McVay to spend his time on this. That's what he has a GM and a scouting department for.
HCs showing up for this are there for the photo ops! (LOL).
