For me this is a big reason why the Super Bowl winning td pass by the chiefs was so successful.
The motion makes it very difficult for the defense to label the receivers correctly and in the same way.
When the dbs are not in agreement on their responsibility, they label the wrs differently, you see coverage breakdowns like that.
on that so-called corndog motion, the motion guy also "hid" behind the OL which also cause a split-second hesitation in the identification so it was a double whammy ...
so the #1 receiver became #2 then #1 again ... and that was in man match
