Do you think the draft is deeper in CBs or edge?
Definitely CB. I had issues with this class initially but the top end got some extra juice with T Arnold coming out and Quin Mitchell shooting up. Those fellas along with Dejean, Mckinstry, and Wiggins make for an interesting first round conversation. Then you have another 4-5 rounds of solid prospects with some interesting sleepers.
Edge is more tumultuous as it takes more time to acclimate to the pro game at that position. So, assuming we don't get the top 3, You may as well draft one of the guys you think you can mold and work with later. Even around pick 100. Because after the top 3 there's a huge drop IMO. And it's not that the next guys are bad, not at all ... they just won't be value over other positions until pick 100.
If we take a CB at 19 and the top 6/7 edges are gone at 52, what edge would you consider if ...
Dorlus, Elliss, Murphy, Kneeland, Isaac, Kamara and Harrell were available at 52 ?
Isaac is a target there, but the others I'd wait on. Dorlus will likely be gone ... and also more likely to be a 5 tech.
Or would you take a player you had ranked higher than any of the available edges at a position of need ?
I think that would be correct for round 2. At round 2 the value should be at CB, WR, or OC. I know it's kinda weird to group players and make assumptions ... but we get pretty close every year except for a few outliers.

Where do you think Quin Mitchell might be taken, if we don't grab him at #19?
I honestly think he's the first corner off the board. Only way he's not is if he runs high 4.5s. And even then. Of course I could be wrong ... but I haven't ever seen as dominant a performance at a senior bowl and the WRs were all 2nd rounder types.
(I must admit: A fast and sticky edge, who is big enough to tackle with authority and win contested throws is intriguing to me. What, if anything, is Mitchell's weakness?)
I'll be looking for that at the combine. Playing for a weak school was why he has been overlooked but the Senior Bowl performance destroys that. Based on the senior bowl, it's not going to be foot speed, based on his career it's not hands or eyes.
Next question: Where do you think your "big three" edge players might be taken?
Turner has the most upside but I don't think you put him in a 3-4. Verse is scheme versatile, as is Latu, but they are not the athlete Turner is. Their showing at the combine will determine whether they all go before pick 15 or if one could slide. Latu has medical stuff, as well. He's the one I could see sliding, even though he is the rare "plug and play" edge because of his size and hand techniques.
Final question: What hope do we have in (any of) our three edges-in-waiting?
I'm not seeing much there. Even if we get a big FA that solidifies the side opposite Young, I'm still going after an edge sooner rather than later in the draft.
