I think it's a little of both....He knew he was not going to get the Rams DC job and the USC $$$$ was just to darn good to pass up.

McVay does not blink an eye with this stuff....."He's a leader of men, sometimes it's good news and sometimes it's bad news, either way if you get a better offer somewhere else then go ahead and take it with my blessing, it's a chance to advance in your professional career."
