I think the idea that a guy will play for quite a bit less for an opportunity to win a ring, is imaginary.
Maybe a slight bit less, or maybe if the structure is slightly less favorable. But, no player is going to play for $8 mil if market is $10 mil. $2mil is a lot of money even to a rich person.
I can't imagine the Rams paying a RB more than a couple of million. Williams is too darn good to turn around and hire a RB 1b at a substantial number. Besides, potentially impactful RBs can be found in pretty much any round. The colleges, even Div III, are putting out some pretty amazing kids.
I have a feeling he might have a higher value on himself than some teams will be willing to pay. Once he hears/sees the offers from all his suitors he will be able to decide easier.
I also agree, I don;t see the Rams paying what he thinks he's worth. Especially after seeing what KyRUN did last season.
Having said that, I think we do need to bring in a quality RB1/RB2 type to pair with Williams. I am sure there will be some good options in the draft for us at RB and I bet we snag at least one.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
