Over a call for a fake that had NO bearing in the outcome of a game. If singular Play Call is a fire worthy offense, McVay, of all people should cut some slack. We saw a entire game's worth vs Cincy this past year. Also, if you are gonna fire a ST Coach that has PRODUCED very well, at least make sure he is PROPERLY replaced. Since Bones left, our STs have been GARBAGE and damn near totally ignored.

We don't know the whole story behind this and we never will. We don't even know if it was Fassel who wanted to go... or if it was McVay who wanted him gone, do we? Maybe it was a mutual decision where you've got two egos not willing to budge. We don't know if there were other things that happened during the season behind closed doors between those two that could have been a factor as well. Maybe that incident during the game was simply the straw that broke the camel's back. It's unfortunate that it happened because not only has the Rams Special Teams been anemic ever since but I believe it damaged the friendship between McVay and Fassel. Until we can right this ST ship, this topic is going to keep coming up
