When the Rams added Brandon in 2021 we watched a special team resurgence. This year the Rams need to either sign a veteran or draft a kicker and find a return guy that offers a little more then Austin Trammel. First off the Los Angeles Rams need a kicker and there are two that stand out if they want to go via the draft in Joshua Karty from Stanford & Will Reichard, there are also some veterans that will be available in free agency, however, I have a feeling that Special Teams Coordinator, will get his opportunity to draft a kicker, like last year when he drafted Punter Ethan Evans.
Austin Trammel was okay as a punt returner, I turnover and had a couple of solid returns, but is not electric. Rams could also look for someone in the draft that offers a little more in that area. Also the Rams are interviewing for Assistant Special Teams Coach Ricky Brumfield from Georgia Tech was the only person listed and he brings many years of collegiate experience so maybe his insights to kicker & return man will be an asset. Overall, big year for Blackburn because I believe McVay really likes Chase, however, the Rams cannot afford this unit to under achieve again & it is up to Chase Blackburn to take a Sad Song and Make it Better.
