As I recall the Patriots redesigned their entire defense between the AFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl specifically to deploy aspects of the Fangio defense that countered the Rams offense in that Bears game.

They ran the 6-1 or 5-1 as ESPN calls it ... and the Cover-2/4 shell --- the Fangio look -- and then rotated post-snap to 3-buzz ---also Fangio

So much of the time you hear people say Pats rolled that out in the Super Bowl but they ran it two weeks before.
