I wouldn't say all of us thought he would make a great head coach. I personally thought that was a horrible hire by the Chargers, they should have gone with an offensive minded coach to help their franchise QB, but they went with the one year defensive wonder and paid the price.

They were foolishly wanting to steal the next great HC and it was way too soon for Staley to make that jump, they got better the day they hired Harbaugh, that was a smart move.
