Michigan's DC......Jesse Minter.....He was on Baltimore Ravens D-Staff prior to getting Wolverines DC job!
OR
Wisconsin DC/HC Jim Leonhard.......Took last season off, so he'd be ready to go!
Interesting suggestion and I've been kicking that around too. Personally I've respected what Iowa St does for years now, though the DC behind their schemes is too long in the tooth for a McVay pairing.
Last time he dipped into the college ranks it was for a specific scheme he wanted to break down. But he's got a good grasp on that now so what would be his motivation this time around. I'd say innovation in general, which is why I mention Iowa St who has been doing interesting things for some time now. But perhaps more importantly is coaching skill and talent as well as youth and energy. Whoever it is has to be able to duel with him in his live periods, I think that is crucial for him.
If you were to look for programs who are doing good things with limited resources then Elko (Duke) would top my list. They looked pretty good vs some top offenses. Another good option would be Harasymiak (Rutgers). He's Schiano taught. And if I were to look at the big programs I'd look hard at Diaz (Penn St).
