Why do people act like any DC can run any type of defense that they want and NOT the type of defense that McVay wants.? The Rams ran the defense that they have since McVay got here because that is the type of defense he wants to run. Maybe he deferred to Wade initially because he was rookie HC but every defense post Wade has been dictated by McVay. So will the next DC be aggressive? If that is what McVay wants. If McVay wants more Fangio shell then that is what we will run. The idea that the passiveness of the defense was a decision made by Morris and McVay was powerless to stop it is frustrating. Since it is well documented that McVay wanted Morris but wanted Morris to continue the Fangio passive shell scheme, he never ran before.
