Take a look at Dabol on screen. Listen to what Dabol says.
He's about as personable and inspiring a leader of men as Matt Patricia - both are bitter fruit that fell from the same tree. They both follow this axiom: they are capable in roles that demand and reveal less of their character, but when promoted to positions that reveal and require more character they eventually falter - most obviously in critical situations.
We speak often onthis board of coaches (leaders) who can get their players to buy in. Some coaches have it, some don't. Some players have it. Matthew Stafford has it. Raheem and McVay have it.
The selection process for special forces (Rangers, SEALS) is so rigorous that they don't miss when selecting unit commanders at any level - team leader or division command. They've identified the character traits required and know how to screen for them. The traits are the same for coaches, excutive, administrators or leaders in any field. Dabol, despite his flash-bang success for a couple of seasons, doesn't meet the criteria.
