quite a bit, actually..... but not because they weren't trying in the 1st. I think Morris adjusted... different stunts based on the Lion's offensive blocking strategy. Different angles, timing, I was quite impressed actually.
ut if you look at the passing situations ... 3rd and medium or more, 2nd and long, 4th down and
there were only 5 opportunities in 1st half for pressure packages....when you watch ti again, see the down and distances ...
they didn't have their first 3rd down until 2nd Q and there were only 6 blitz opportunities and Jones blitzed on 5 of them.
In the 3rd quarter there were 4 opportunities and Rams had 2 sacks of those 4.
It's just that in 1st quarter there was no opportunity to blitz, Lions in 1st and 2nd or 2nd and short and they were running quite a bit 12 personnel and throwing from it and running from 11 ...
Rams problem in 1st Q was not 3rd downs ... they didn't force any. Lions had Rams on their heels early and they were so efficient that they didn't have a 3rd down until 11 min in 2nd Q when they'd already scored 2 TDs.
I get it it seems like more but it was just more effective in 3rd Q ... I watched the game twice yesterday, part of it again before the games and am watching it now.
