Not really, but I am drafting Kardy from Stanford with one of the 2 5th rounders the Rams have.
Rams have:
1st
2nd
3rd
5th
5th
6th
And they are projected to get 2 6ths and 2 7ths in compensation.
IMO its CB and Edge and then everything else. Obviously FA can/will change things. I just don't like what I see in FA at either spot.
At edge, I cannot imagine Josh Allen getting away from Jax, but Chase Young and Brian Burns maybe? I loved Greenard coming out of college, but he is playing as a 43 DE for Houston, so maybe not a fit? The most logical option? Danielle Hunter. 29 years old and probably affordable.
CB is super thin, which makes the good ones expensive. Jaylon Johnson and L'Jarius Snead are the top 2. After that, yuck
As far as round 1, Im looking at guys like Cooper DeJean from Iowa. Play him at S, slot CB, Outside CB or Star. Return skills are a bonus. Latu the Edge from UCLA has the most NFL ready pass rush moves. He has to pass medicals obviously since he retired from football due to injury and came back. Either Alabama CB has to be in play. Chop Robinson is a favorite of mine, and the opposite of Latu, super athletic, but needs to develop his pass rush moves. I don't think Verse or Turner make it to LAs spot. Jer'Zhan Newton would pair nicely with AD and Turner, but he is long gone Im afraid. Lastly WRs. Harrison and Nabers are long gone. Odunze and Coleman also gone. Egbuka could be there and he's physical and fast. Troy Franklin is a 6'-3" burner that works inside and out and is a great route runner. Im not drafting a QB in round 1. Round 2 might be a different story.
I can see the Rams trading down a bit as well and adding more middle round picks. To me that is the likeliest outcome. But as of today I'm taking the best CB/Edge in round 1.
Round 2 has 2 OCs I really like in Van Pran from Georgia and Jackon Powers-Johnson from Oregon. Both will be at the Senior Bowl. And Coleman is a FA I believe. Unless the Rams plan to move Avila to OC. CB gets thinner, but Quinyon Mitchell will be at the Senior Bowl and I need to see more than highlights, so looking forward to seeing him there. TJ Tampa and Kamari Lassiter should be 2nd rounders as well. Like Alyo said, Edge in round 2 is not great. I think Braswell from Alabama is a 2nd rounder, whom I love. There are a bunch of WRs I love in round 2. The Xaviers, Worthy from Texas and Legette from South Carolina. I absolutely love Legettes fit in the Rams offense. 6'-3" over 210 lbs, super physical and fast. An absolutely perfect fit IMO. Other WRs I like are Mitchell the other Texas WR and Devontez Walker from UNC. If any of McCarthy, Penix Jr or Nix lasts to the Rams pick, I'd be tempted. I need to see more of Pratt from Tulane. Its too early for a S, TE or RB. Maybe a LT like Kingsley Suamataia, an athletic freak and all day strong and has played on both ends of the OL. Too early for Barton Graham? Probably a 2nd rounder.
3rd round is where I think you start looking at a S. Like Alyo, I love Beau Brade from Maryland, but I tend to like safeties from Maryland for some reason. Tykee Smith fits, Cole bishop from Utah is interesting to me as well. RBs Bucky Irving is a HR hitter and a great pass catcher, so a change of pace guy. Braelon Allen is a 240 lb guy with good hands and is surprisingly quick, Estime from Notre Dame is a slightly bigger version if Kyren, so a nice 1-2 punch. If the Rams haven't gotten a CB yet, then Cam hart might be worth a look. 6'-2" 4.45 speed and physical. Could play CB or S. Max Melton and Caelen Carson should slot around round 3. Adisa Isaac Penn St is worth a look as an edge, but thats about all I see right now. Zack Frazier OC from WV should be around this range.
No 4th (not yet at least)
5th round Im grabbing a Kardy, the kicker from Stanford, if he's available. With the other pick I could be talked into anything, WR would be a priority if none have been drafted yet. RB should provide some value on day 3.
Day 3 in general, I'd like to add a TE The 2 kids from Iowa would be targets late. Add an OC (Andrew Raym) if not yet taken, add a S if not taken yet. I'd grab a 2nd CB and Edge as well, depending on FA.
Ideally (as of today) I would love to see the Rams go get a top end Edge rusher in FA. Resign Dotson and Fuller, then the draft would look something like: 1. CB, 2. WR/OC, 3. RB/OC, 5. Kicker, 5. S, 6.6.7.7. OL depth, CB and Edge depth, DT depth, TE depth.
This will obviously change a ton.
