The soft zone at least this year was a necessity because we saw the Rams play tight coverage tonight and get juked and burned repeatedly as well. I believe it is a McVay edict, play soft for prolonged drives and maybe eventually AD, breaks free.
I know it's been mentioned often, but...
DAMN! It's frustrating seeing AD get double/triple-teamed AND NO ONE ELSE manages to get consistent pressure. Don't really see Young as being a threat absent a legitimate threat on the opposite side.
If the Rams had a prime Von Miller type,Turner and Young would look much better between him and AD. They are rookies and can't consistently beat above average blocking but if you have to double this new edge then you can't triple AD, it's a numbers game, either Young or Turner is unblocked or the opposing team is in max protect.
Yeah...it's still kinda crazy to me. Maybe I could understand parting ways with Jalen Ramsey. But to part ways with Ramsey, B-wags, AND Floyd?
Either one of those players on the roster likely would've made a difference.
But we unilaterally disarmed.
