For myself as I keep saying its addition has the potential of putting this offense into rare levels. I agree we lack it and btw this is not just on offense.
Defensively if Tomlinson can't do the job we need a stud corner to eat that top draw. Same thing, speed required.
Speed will be a theme for us this draft I think.
Will also say again how much I appreciate Evans who is a FA, who has speed plus size. If it was up to me I would sign Dotson and Evans in FA then draft heavy defense to juice that side of the ball.
My rationale is given the WR quality in this draft teams won't be too heavy on Evans. He is underrated. And then you have a vet offense to maximize a vet QB. Defense deserves the draft TLC as well.
The problem with that strategy is that this next particular draft is rich with wide receiver prospects, but not so much at edge. Therefore, the smart play might be to acquire edge players via free agency, and then perhaps draft a speedy wide receiver?
Same thing may apply at cornerback, too. I don’t know…
Backup QB, RB, TE, OL, and S will surely be addressed via FA, trade, or draft in some order this offseason, as well.
Gonna be a VERY interesting offseason, to say the least.
