I think that's right, though I am not aware of any particular special teams "scheme" -- I don't think of it the same as maybe offense or defense) but you're thinking seems to be right on. Why I posted it is because the people are in the right place .. They just blew it.
I do think Evans is outkicking coverage and has been doing it all year. Yesterday's punt had (roughly) a 4.3 hang time ... that is the average for the NFL but the average kick is maybe 48 years. That punt went 58 yards with no extra hangtime ... so it's 10 more yards to cover with no additional time.
So if they are being coached right (right place for coverage), but still are performing badly you wonder what is going on. They payers don get it? They are not being motivated right? Now the usual knee-jerk reactions are occurring but we need Jourdan or someone to dig into what is happening
