my Rams-Vikings playoff memory

December 27, 2023 08:06AM
1978. My family were members of the Italian American Club in Las Vegas. I was 7 years old. They're big annual holiday party happened to fall on Dec. 31st that year. The whole main hall is decked out for Christmas and New Years. After dinner I convince my parents to let me go watch the game at the bar. They let 7-year old me sit at the bar solo, ordering round after round of Shirley Temples and cheering on the Rams to that 34-10 win among a dozen or so adults ringing in the New year. It was a glorious day. I can still vividly picture the whole scene in my head.
