preseason I predicted "6 or so wins".
They have exceeded my prediction already and look to maybe make playoffs -- a good shot anyway -- and that
is FAR beyond my expectations.
I honestly did not thing we'd be this good.
BUT I also knew Rams were not tanking. That was beyond silly. They were predicting a couple maybe three wins, even the first overall pick
if memory serves.
Only those who said 9-10 wins are going to be right--and good on them.
Good stuff, and I'm right there with you.
I knew there was no way McVay will ever put this team in tank mode. He just doesn't think or work like that. But this team was definitely in realignment mode and I thought we'd be in the 6-7 win range, tops. I really liked Avila, and thought Cam would have a good season running behind him. I was pretty down on the rest of the line other than Havs. I thought the rest of our draft looked OK. I personally liked the Davis Allen pick.
What has happened with our rookies and FA signings/ trade was totally unpredicted by anyone, and just flies in the face of logic. I've been searching for a point of reference, and I find things that may be close, but I can't find another instance of such a strong influx of players who have created the kind of impact these guys have. It's really amazing. And no matter how this season ends, that remains fact. What a bright future we have.
So I agree, my friend, I've never been happier to be wrong.
